Newton-Ungku Omar Fund (NUOF) & Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM)
The Newton Fund is an initiative by the UK Government in partnership with 16 countries to support research, science & innovation that has sustainable growth.
In Malaysia, this partnership is branded as Newton-Ungku Omar Fund (NUOF), after a well-known Malaysian scientist Professor Datuk Dr Ungku Omar Ungku Ahmad, for his contribution to medical & health sciences research. Since its establishment in 2014, NUOF has been playing an imperative role to promote STI collaboration in Malaysia as an initiative under the Science to Action (S2A). ASM participates as one of the Malaysian delivery partners of NUOF, implementing several type of programmes throughout collaborations with other UK delivery partners.
